We had a good visit with the children in August, 2026. They were healthy and happy. They had some new songs and dances for us – we were especially enchanted by the youngest children’s participation! On Sunday, we had chicken and fries delivered for lunch. It’s always a big treat for the children. And we followed it with a few lively games of Bingo! Lots of fun!
We celebrated three students who have graduated. One boy is going off to college and we presented him with a laptop. One girl has graduated vocational training in hair and beauty. She was given an ipad. One more girl who has graduated high school and has been accepted into a college was absent, but we’ve saved a reward for her. We are so proud of all of the children – but especially the graduates. The first girl we ever sponsored is scheduled to graduate college in December! (It was so good to see her – she has been off at school!) Such a milestone! We are so proud of her determination!
We are now focusing only on education. It is good to see the children and staff taking school seriously. The children began working with their tutors again after we left. The school break goes until late August. We wish the children well for the remainder of the school year!
